Administration and decision-making

The highest decision-making power in the municipality is the Municipal Council, which is elected by the citizens every four years. The Kaavi municipal council is made up of 17 councillors.

The Municipal Executive Board, chosen from among its members by the councillors, is responsible for the administration and economy of the municipality, as well as finalising, enforcing, and overseeing the legality of decisions made by the Council.
